In short, I'm obsessed with Dave Matthews Band. A couple of years ago, they released an album called "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King." In the first few weeks that the title was released, I couldn't even remember all the words in the title - even Dave Matthews refers to the title as a "mouthful." Now, it's something that's spoken in my everyday life. The band's own Carter Beauford describes "GrooGrux" as the only word they could think of, although made up, to describe the energy and vibe of their wild-sounding rhythms and tunes. And as they went on to master these "GrooGruxes," they became "GrooGrux Kings," a nickname they gave to each other.
Shortly after falling in love with this album (and the name), I adopted a dog and the name spoke for itself. He would become "Grux." And still, four years later, it fits him better than anything else I could think of.
Which is what I hope I can say about this blog in the time to come.
